Nigerian Man Under Probe For Allegedly Defrauding Over 30 Job Seekers Of Millions Of Naira

Sunday Oladejo was also accused of defrauding some Immigration Officers under the pretext of helping them for foreign posts into different countries.

 

Sunday Oladejo, a Nigerian man, has been accused of fraud.

He was accused of defrauding no fewer than 30 persons of the sum of N4million under the pretext of helping them to secure a non-existing Civil Defence and Immigration job.

Sunday Oladejo was also accused of defrauding some Immigration Officers under the pretext of helping them for foreign posts into different countries.

It was learnt that the suspect used a pseudo name, Ademola, to carry out his activities.

One of the victims, Mr. Nasiru Tajudeen Sanjo, who is a retired immigration official told SaharaReporters that Oladejo Sunday collected N4,700,000 from them.

Nasiru who is 60 years old said EFCC had invited him to their office in Abuja for questioning for the same case.

He said; "In November 2020 when immigration service started selecting officers going for foreign posting into different countries, Oladejo Sunday collected the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) from me and two other persons Mrs. Nasiru Lateefat Ahmed Ekundayo One Eighty Thousand Naira (N180,000) and Salami Yemisi One Hundred and Seventy Thousand Naira (N170,000) totalling Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only (N650,000).

"April 15, 2021 he called me that he could be of assistance if I had people looking for employment, which was due to the economic situation of the country. In Immigration and Nigerian Civil Defence Corps, he said he would use ‘power from above.’

"I sent him names including my brothers, sisters and others; he sent five different account numbers to send the money. The total money we sent to Oladejo Sunday is N4,700,000.

"I was in Abuja for good three weeks looking for him but all my effort was in vain, please come and rescue me I called his phone number it was switched off. These are the phone numbers: 09057966270, 08085448582, 07026396784, 09057966270, 09051966140.

"EFCC through phone call has invited me to be in their office in Zone 6 Abuja on Thursday for questioning for the same case of which am also a victim," he said.

Nasiru said the case and other related issues were reported at Anti-Vice Section of the Criminal Investigation Department at Wuse Zone 2 in Abuja

However, Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesperson, told SaharaReporters that he was not aware of the investigation. He promised to find out and get back.
