Buhari Speaks On ASUU Strike, Reveals Next Decision

He said the government has made available over N450 billion in the budget to meet the demands in the lecturers.

 
President Muhammadu Buhari has said his government will not sign agreement it cannot keep with the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
 
This is as he expressed dismay over the continued strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
 
The President said the government expects the staff of the universities to have a better understanding of issues in the country.
 
He said the government has made available over N450 billion in the budget to meet the demands in the lecturers.
 
He said it was becoming obvious that the government can no longer fund the education alone, adding that it was imperative to work out framework to fund the budget.
 
He said the government will no longer sign any agreement that it cannot implement.
