Bandits Shoot Vigilante, Kidnap 15 In Niger State

Some of the farmers were harvesting and some weeding their beniseed farms when the bandits invaded the farms and abducted them.

Fifteen victims have been abducted by bandits in different communities in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.

According to Daily Trust, bandits shot a vigilante and abducted three farmers in Ajiji-Kapako community.

A resident, Saidu Aliyu, said the incident happened around 2pm on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

"Some of the farmers were harvesting and some weeding their beniseed farms when the bandits invaded the farms and kidnaped three of them," he explained.

"The vigilantes on patrol were attracted by the gunshots and they engaged the bandits in order to rescue the victims but one of them was shot on the leg," he added.

In a similar development, bandits attacked Angwan Yusif in Kpada community, also in Lapai LGA and kidnapped over 12 peoples.

A Nigerian Correctional Services officer, Ahmad Rufai Mohammad Gulu, said the attack occurred on Sunday night, October 2, 2022.

"Our community is no longer safe. This bandit operation is now on daily basis. They want to capture Azza area to the get hold of many villages
," he said.

"A victim released by bandits confirmed that they have over 10 camps in the forest and they are more than 200 in number.

"This issue has gone out of hand. Therefore those who have other means should come to our aid. An Injury to one is injury to all they said. May Allah save us and grant us relief from the hands of bandits.
" he added.
