Police Rescue Kidnapped Victim In Delta, Recover 50 Rounds Of Live Cartridges

The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

 

A kidnapped victim has been rescued by the police Operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in Agbarho Division in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The police also recovered fifty (50) rounds of live cartridges from the crime scene.

The victim was rescued following information to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, that some armed hoodlums were at the residence of the victim along Railway Station Road Agbarho and had kidnapped and driven out of the premises towards the railway.

It was learnt that Police gave the hoodlums a hot chase.

The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

He said, “The hoodlums on sighting the Policemen fired at sporadically at them, but the police equally responded and due to the superior firepower of the Police, the hoodlums abandoned the victim and ran into the bush.

“The victim who was tied and kept in the boot of the car was rescued unhurt. When the car was searched, fifty (50) rounds of live cartridges were recovered.

“Effort is on to arrest the fleeing hoodlums.”
