He said while the presiding and principal officers will be in Room 028 together with some members, others will be in Room 231 and connected to the session electronically.
After two months annual recess, the House Of Representatives resumed plenary on Tuesday at the new improvised chamber inside the National Assembly Complex.
The Clerk to the House, Dr Yahaya Danzaria, had in a news bulletin dated September 17, 2022, said members of the Green Chamber are to resume at Conference Rooms 028 and 231.
Danzarai said the rooms have been reconfigured for plenary due to the ongoing renovation of the old chamber National Assembly Complex which began in July 2022.
He said while the presiding and principal officers will be in Room 028 together with some members, others will be in Room 231 and connected to the session electronically.
The bulletin partly read, “Members are expected to resume plenary on the same date at the new improvised chamber in Room 028 of the New Building, with a capacity for 118 seats only.
“This new chamber is extended by an upper deck provision in Room 231 of the New Building, with a capacity for 236 seats. The rooms are connected audio-visually and electronically with large screens.
“Accordingly, there are no designated seats apart from the allocation for the presiding and principal officers. Therefore, all other sitting arrangements are based on arrivals. It is equally important to note that because this is a temporary, improvised arrangement, no provisions are made for legislative aides due to wanting of space.”
