So Heartbreaking! Another Popular Nollywood Actor Passes Away in the Hospital (Photo)

Nollywood has been thrown into a deep state of mourning following the demise of a veteran Nollywood actor known for starring in major thrilling movies.

Nollywood actor, Mike Obi Nkemakonam Odiachi passed away on Monday February 15, 2016 at the General Hospital, Ikorodu, Lagos state.

Popular for his role as Innocent Man in “Igodo,” the late actor also performed and toured with the National Troupe of Nigeria in Ahmed Yerima’s “Attahiru".

He was also a member of the Anansa Playhouse in the 1980s. Odiachi also featured in movies like "Keboti," "Prophet of Doom," "Super Story," "Scam Files" among others.

He was once part of the stage interpretation of Ola Rotimi’s “The Gods Are Not to Blame” as ‘Odewale’.

A graduate of University of Ibadan where he studied Theatre Arts, the late actor was an integral part of the movement for a relevant Nigerian students Theatre practice in NUTAF (Nigerian Universities Theatre Arts Festival ).

Odiachi was a pioneer member of cast of the world famous “Story Story” produced by the BBC World Service, where he voiced the Linus Igbokwe character.

A Service of Songs / Artistes Night will be held on Tuesday 23rd February 2016 at his residence at: New Covenant Estate, Ayeberi, Gbaga Junction, Off Ijede Roed, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
