Opalola stated that investigation revealed that the suspects and the victim were friends and internet fraudsters.
Two suspects: Wahab Hammed, 28 years and Adegoke Ayobami, 31 years, have been arrested by the Osun State Police Command.
They were arrested for alleged conspiracy, armed robbery and murder.
According to the spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola during a suspect parade at the Police headquarters Osogbo on Tuesday, the duo were arrested after a case of missing person was reported at the B Division Modakeke on August 7, 2022.
According to Opalola, “Immediately, preliminary investigation was carried out and one Wahab Hammed friend of the missing person, one Oguntade Wasiu now deceased, was arrested in connection with the case.
“Consequently, the case was transferred to the Anti-Robbery section of the Command State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and swiftly the team extended its investigation tentacles to Alaro area of Modakeke where one Adegoke Ayobami was arrested on 12/8/22.”

In her words, “Having discovered that the deceased was always making money more than them, the duo conspired and lured their friend (the deceased) to an uncompleted building in a remote part of Alaro area, Modakeke in a bid to collect money from him and in the course of struggle he was killed.
“The suspects made away with the victim’s motorcycle which was recovered from the second suspect’s house.”
She disclosed that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
The Osun Police Command spokesperson also assured that the Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode will not deviate from his earlier promise not to make the State a safe haven for criminals.
She also solicited for the cooperation and collaboration of the members of the public by giving prompt and useful information to the police that would enable them to serve the State better.
