It was learnt that the woman, whose nickname is Iyaleko, was last seen around 5 pm after she left a party on Saturday.
The sudden disappearance of a 59-year-old woman has plunged many residents of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, in a state of panic.
DAILY POST reports that Dupeola Muritala Tijani, who resides in the Adekile area of Ibadan, suddenly disappeared on Saturday.
Sources told Daily Post that she must have been abducted.
It was learnt that the woman, whose nickname is Iyaleko, was last seen around 5 pm after she left a party on Saturday.
It was gathered that Mrs. Tijani was on her way to her house when she was allegedly abducted between 6 and 7 pm.
The incident had been reported at Agugu Police Station.
The husband of the woman, Mr. Muritala Tijani, confirmed the disappearance of his wife.
Tijani, in a telephone conversation with DAILY POST on Tuesday, said, “I am the husband of the woman that was declared missing. We have not seen her since then.
“We have been looking for her since Saturday.
“She went to a party around 5 pm, she was coming from the party, but suddenly taken away few metres to the house.
“The incident occurred between 6 and 7pm. We have reported the matter at Agugu police station. But, we have not seen her up till now”.
However, the effort made by DAILY POST to get a reaction from the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Adewale Osifeso, proved to be abortive.
Several calls put through to his phone were not answered while an SMS sent to him has not been replied to as of the time of filing this report on Wednesday.
