In a statement on Monday, the spokesman of the organisation, Bayo Onanuga, said the APC presidential candidate will not trade words or insults with the opposition PDP.
The Tinubu Campaign Organisation has replied a scathing press statement from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) describing the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, as a confused candidate that is under the influence.
Speaking on Monday, the spokesman of the organisation, Bayo Onanuga, said the APC presidential candidate will exchange insults with PDP.
Recall that Tinubu, while speaking on Saturday at the unveiling of the Tinubu/Shettima door-to-door campaign group in Abuja, had called on the APC members not to hurl abuses at the PDP because the APC is smarter and the PDP lacks direction.
In its response, the PDP described the APC as a dead party, stressing that Tinubu is confused and a paper candidate, adding that he is intimidated by its candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Reacting, Onanuga said Tinubu and the ruling party will be more focused on burning issues, stressing that the opposition party has nothing to offer Nigerians in 2023.
He said the PDP descended into the pit of hatred because Tinubu reminded the party of its 16 years which left a mess for the APC government.
Onanuga, however, said the opposition party and its leaders were clueless during their tenure and in opposition, saying that the APC government has many achievements to be proud of.
The statement reads, “Instead of the intensely incapacitated PDP to respond to the clear issues raised by Tinubu, the party abandoned all decorum and hurled personal abuses at him. This is usually the trademark of a party that has nothing to offer the people. No decent person expects the PDP to do better though. The party and its leaders were clueless as a ruling party and still rudderless in opposition.
“We have had cause in the past to state our objective in the five-month campaign leading to the February 25, 2023 presidential election not to trade personal insults. Our party and presidential candidate will focus on issues that are important to improving the quality of life of Nigerians.
“Let us make it clear to the PDP that the current APC government has many achievements to be proud of unlike the PDP that squandered and plundered Nigeria’s resources and could not even deliver a simple Second Niger Bridge to the people of the South-East that have always delivered votes for it since 1999. To the shame of the PDP and eternal credit to the APC, the President will commission the bridge this year.
“Doubtless, our party and candidates acknowledge the new challenges of insecurity and the economy. These are being confronted squarely by the Buhari regime. The incoming APC government as Tinubu revealed is already strategising on how to deal with the problems as governing is a continuum.”
