Barambu From Federal University, Dutse Emerges President Of Nigerian Students, NANS

Barambu, a student of Economics and Development Studies got 292 votes to defeat his closest rival, Umar Farouk Lawan who scored only 8 votes.

 

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected Comrade Umar Barambu from the Federal University, Dutse  as its new President.

Barambu, a student of Economics and Development Studies got 292 votes to defeat his closest rival, Umar Farouk Lawan who scored only 8 votes.

The election was held at the old parade ground, Abuja.

Barambu is a former students’ union president, joint campus committee chairman and Zone A cordinator.

He is to succeed Asefon Sunday Dayo, the outgoing NANS President.

The association also elected former NANS JCC Ondo chairman, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez as its Vice President, External Affairs.

Akinteye polled 245 votes to defeat his only rival, Dan Fodio who polled 43 votes.
