Abike made the assertion during a press briefing at the state house in Abuja on Thursday, August 25.
Nigerians have accused chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa of lying.
This comes after she claimed that alot of Nigerians in the diaspora are relocating back to the country.
Nollywood actress, Shan George and some other Nigerians called her out over the claim.
Recall that Abike made the assertion during a press briefing at the state house in Abuja on Thursday, August 25.
She said that despite the fact that a lot of Nigerians are aiming to leave the country, there are many Nigerians constantly returning home to engage in other interesting things.
She added that the hospital where the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, underwent surgery was set up by diaspora doctors.
In her words: “We speak of “japa” as a one-way phenomenon, but we also have Nigerians constantly returning home. There are examples of Nigerians returning home, occasionally or permanently, to do interesting things, in agriculture, healthcare, etc.
The hospital where the VP was recently treated was set up by diaspora doctors. I’m not saying Nigeria’s not a challenging environment, but we must also acknowledge those who are coming back home to do impactful things.”
However, actress Shan George and other Nigerians reacted to the claims stating it is false and Abike might have received the wrong information.
