Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu said the warning became necessary because of activities of artisanal miners.
The government of Osun state has given warning to tourists, devotees visiting the famous Osun River for the grand finale of the annual Osun Osogbo Festival on Friday August 12.
The government warned them not to drink from the Osun River because of contamination.
Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu said the warning became necessary because of activities of artisanal miners.
Isamotu also told newsmen that public health officials would be at the grove during the festival to further sensitise people on the danger of drinking the water.
