The governor sympathised with the victims of flood across the state, Daily Post reports.

The Governor in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Dutse by the commissioner of Special Duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara, said the flood is considered the Almighty’s way of testing his servants.

DAILY POST reported that no fewer than seven persons died, hundreds of houses destroyed and farm produce washed away as a result of heavy downpours in many local governments in the state.

The statement said almost all the local governments in the state have recorded some level of damage, with some of the local governments recording deaths and multiple injuries.

“I want to use this opportunity to condole the people of Jigawa State and also to sympathize with victims of the recent flood that was majorly caused by a torrential rainfall that lasted for over thirty hours.” the Governor said in a statement.

He added, “the effect of climate change is a global phenomenon that does not spare any part of the world. Last year we experienced a shortage of rainfall but this year it is completely different. This is Allah’s way of testing us.”

“From the report, we are receiving six people who have lost their lives, three in Kirikasamma and three in Kafin Hausa local government areas of the state.

”I use this medium to send my condolences to the immediate family of the victims and pray that the almighty grant them Jannatul Firdausi.” the Governor added.
