Court Jails Surety For Five Years For impersonating To Secure Suspect's Bail (Photo)

The convict had allegedly posed as a Grade Level 12 staff of Soba Local Government Area to secure the bail of a suspect under investigation by the EFCC.

 
A surety has been sent to prison for five years by Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court.
 
The man identified as Ali Sani Yaro, pictured above was sentenced to five years in prison for impersonation. 
 
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna Zonal Command had arraigned Yaro before the court on a one-count charge bordering on impersonation. 
 
The anti-graft agency told the court that the convict allegedly posed as a Grade Level 12 staff of Soba Local Government Area to secure the bail of a suspect under investigation by the EFCC. 
 
However, the documents he presented were found to be forged in the course of verification by the Commission. 
 
Delivering judgment on the case on Monday, August 1, the trial judge, Justice Khobo found him guilty and sentenced him to five years in jail to serve as a deterrent to others.
