Dr. Abubakar is a serving Deputy Director in charge of Public Health, Zamfara State Ministry for Animal Health and Livestock Development.
Dr Abubakar Salis, a veterinary doctor, and his son, Mubarak, have been kidnapped.
They were abducted by bandits in Mareri area of Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
Dr. Abubakar is a serving Deputy Director in charge of Public Health, Zamfara State Ministry for Animal Health and Livestock Development.
It was gathered that the bandits abducted father and son around 10:00pm on Thursday, July 28.
According to report, the bandits laid ambush at his house waiting for him to come out.
When he came outside alongside his two sons to fix an electric cable, the bandits abducted them.
It was further learnt that the bandits later released one of the sons with a message that "his father's car should be sold to pay ransom for their release.
