Kano Government Declares Monday Work-Free Day Over Islamic Calendar

Gov Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has declared Monday, 1st August 2022, a work-free day in Kano state to mark the beginning of the 1445 Islamic (Hijrah) New Year.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba issued to newsmen in Kano.

The Governor congratulated all Muslims ummah for the beginning of the new Islamic calendar.

He, however, urged Muslims to use the break to pray for Allah’s forgiveness and His intervention to rescue the country from the lingering security challenges.

Governor Ganduje also assured of his administration’s readiness to continue improving the lives of its citizens.
