Recently Released Inmates Re-arrested For Car Snatching In Lagos

The suspects both recently released on May 05, 2022, and June 04, 2022, respectively from the Ikoyi Correctional facility, were arrested following a tip-off from civic-minded members of the public.

Two suspected car snatchers were apprehended by men of the Lagos State Police Command along Egbeda Road at about 1:30am on Sunday, July 24, shortly after they dispossessed a Toyota Corolla 2000 model with registration number LND-664-GF from its owner.

The suspects identified as Abiodun Nurudeen, 36, and Anthony Richard, 45, both recently released on May 05, 2022 and June 04, 2022 respectively from Ikoyi Correctional facility, were arrested following a tip-off from civic-minded members of the public.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle was snatched around Lekki, Lagos State.

Confirming their arrest to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said while investigation is ongoing, the owner of the vehicle needs to come forward with proof of ownership to claim the vehicle.

He added that the suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation.
