Honorary degree is becoming more popular among Nigerian celebrities with many of them receiving them even overseas.
Different Nigerian celebrities have bagged honorary degrees over the years.
Tertiary institutions bestow degrees honorary especially on prominent individuals and celebrities to recognise their hard work, commitment and lifetime success.
Most of the recipients do not have to go through all of the inconveniences or stress in getting a degree program.
Honorary degree is becoming more popular among Nigerian celebrities with many of them receiving them even overseas.
Here are seven Nigerian celebrities with honorary doctorate degrees:
1. Tiwa Savage
Tiwa Savage is the latest celebrity conferred with Honorary Doctorate Degree by her alma school, the University of Kent in the United Kingdom.
The University shared pictures on its page and congratulated her on her achievement. The beautiful mother of one also stated that she is overjoyed to have received the Honorary Degree.
2. Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde
The actress received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Igbenedion University, Okada in 2019.
The award was for her contributions to human development and progress.
3. Linda Ikeji
Linda Ikeji was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree by Trinity International University, Georgia in 2018.
The Honorary Doctorate degree was presented to the popular blogger and LITV CEO in recognition of her work in media in Africa.
4. Okoye Peter (Mr P)
The popular music star received an honorary degree in Arts from Escae University in Benin Republic. The degree was given to him in honour of his contributions to music and dance
5. Eucharia Anunobi
Eucharia Anunobi is also another beautiful Nigeria actress who has received an honorary degree.
The actress received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Christian Leadership and Missions from Kingdom Life Bible College and Seminary International.
6. Ezuruonye Mike
Actor Mike Ezuruonye was awarded a honorary doctorate degree in Literature and Art from Estan University in Benin Republic, a Pan-African University of Advanced Technologies and Management.
He made the announcement in a video he shared on his Instagram page.
7. Mo Abudu
Mo Abudu is the founder and CEO of EbonyLife Media, she received two honorary doctorates from both Babcock University and the University of Westminster.
She received honoured as a Doctor of Humane Letter, Honouris Causa, at the 2014 Convocation Ceremony of Babcock University at the Sports Stadium.
The University of Westminster, London also awarded her an honorary degree of Doctor of Arts, in recognition of her services to broadcasting and enterprise in Nigeria.
