President Buhari had ordered the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, to resolve the over 5-months ASUU strike within two weeks.
A former Nigerian lawmaker, Shehu Sani has called out President Muhammadu Buhari over his latest directive that the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities be resolved in two weeks.
The strike has been ongoing for over 5 months.
On Tuesday, July 19, President Buhari had a meeting with some stakeholders in Abuja where he handed the directive to the Minister to resolve the issues that led to the strike.
Reacting to this development, Senator Shehu opined that the President should direct the Minister of Finance to release funds needed to address the demands of the striking lecturers and not hand down an ultimatum to the Education minister.
