Benue State Governor, Ortom’s Convoy Gets Involved In Road Crash

Terver Akase, in a statement issued on Sunday confirmed that the governor’s convoy was involved in an accident shortly after accompanying the governor to the Abuja airport.

 

According to The PUNCH, the convoy of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, was on Sunday involved in an auto crash while on its way to Makurdi from Abuja.

The governor, was, however, not in the convoy as of the time of the crash.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Terver Akase, in a statement issued on Sunday confirmed that the governor’s convoy was involved in an accident shortly after accompanying the governor to the Abuja airport.

The statement read in part, “The governor’s convoy was on the way from Abuja to Makurdi after accompanying him to the airport for his trip to the United Kingdom when a Golf car collided with one of the security vehicles.

“We thank God that no life was lost in the incident.

“Governor Ortom, who has already arrived safely in the UK, deeply appreciates all the calls and concerns from Benue people and other Nigerians.”

Ortom is expected to spend two weeks both in the United Kingdom and United States of America.

Akase said the governor was invited as a special guest to two international summits this week in the UK and United States.

The events, according to Akase, will focus on peace-building, social justice and sustainable development in Nigeria as well as other parts of the world.
