The gunmen that abducted 29 Zamfara businessmen returning from a wedding in Sokoto state to their state on Saturday, June 11, are demanding a ransom of N145 million to effect their release.
Seven of the victims who are mobile phone accessories dealers in Bebeji plaza in Guasau, the state capital, were rescued by vigilante members of the state 24 hours after their abduction.

Zamfara has been one of the hotbeds for kidnapping activities in the country.
