Zamfara: Bandits Kidnap Former Electoral Commissioner, Brother

He was abducted on Monday evening at Gidan-Giye village, along Gusau-Tsafe -Wanzamai road, a few kilometres away from Tsafe town.

Hon Sanusi Wanzamai Sanusi, a former permanent Commissioner of Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC), has been abducted by gunmen.

Eyewitness accounts said that he was abducted on Monday evening at Gidan-Giye village, along Gusau-Tsafe -Wanzamai road, few kilometres away from Tsafe town.

Dailypost gathered that Wanzamai was kidnapped alongside his younger brother.

The villagers said the former permanent Commissioner was trying to repair his car which developed problem while the bandits were crossing the road.

“They swooped on him and took them to their hideout inside the forest,
” the source said.

However, the State’s police Public Relations Officer,(PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report.
