The aspirants are former spokesperson for the House of Representatives, Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, ex-chairman of Eket Local Government and Kingsley Edoho, a business mogul.
The Nation reports that there is confusion in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, as three aspirants have claimed victory in Eket federal constituency primary held last weekend.
The aspirants are former spokesperson for the House of Representatives, Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, ex-chairman of Eket Local Government and Kingsley Edoho, a business mogul.
Eyiboh claimed he scored 180 votes of 215 total votes cast by accredited delegates from the four local government areas of Eket, Onna, Esit Eket and Ibeno that make up the federal constituency.
He defeated two other aspirants, Kingsley Edoho and Aniekan Akpan, who polled 15 votes and 20 votes.
Edoho claimed that he polled198 votes to defeat Eseme Eyiboh and Aniekan Akpan, who scored 10 and five votes.
He claimed that he was declared winner by the returning officer, Udo Ekeminua.
Although Akpan did not provide details about his purported victory, he, however, maintained that he won the primary.
Efforts by our correspondent to speak with the state Chairman of the APC, Stephen Ntukekpo, on the matter, were not successful, as he did not pick his calls.
