Suspected Armed Robbers Kill Member of Presidential Task Force On COVID-19 In Kogi (Photo)

Michael was killed on Wednesday, May 25, by highway robbers around Okene on his way to visit his mother, according to Mr Bala.

 
A member of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Kogi state has been killed by armed robbers.
 
The victim has been identified as Michael Omotayo.
 
According to one Saleh Bala, the deceased was killed on Wednesday, May 25, by highway robbers around Okene on his way to visit his mother, according to Mr Bala. 
 
"I met Michael Omotayo through the Kasimu Idris family. Michael was with the Presidential Task Force on COVID. He was killed yesterday by highway robbers around Okene on his way to visit his mother. I am numbed," he wrote. 
 
"I introduced Michael to a number of close friends and family, who like me he helped to facilitate their access to the COVID vaccine. I can hardly remember a more polite, courteous and committed gentleman, and a passionate Nigerian like Michael. We really have lost a human
 
"Nigeria has lost a good and resourceful patriot. He is really of the fold of those citizens who are silently in their small corners making Nigeria work and giving it the invaluable slight peace there is. Shame that he exited through violence. When will this cowardice and crass wickedness stop. Adieu brother"
