Supreme Court Fixes Date To Hear Buhari, Malami's Suit Challenging Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act

The National Assembly is listed as the sole defendant in the suit filed on April 29, 2022, marked: SC/CV/504/2022.

 
The Supreme Court has fixed a date to hear a suit by President Muhammadu Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami challenging Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act.
 
The apex court said it will hear the suit on Thursday, May 19.
 
The parties in the case have since been served hearing notices, according to TheNation.
 
The National Assembly is listed as the sole defendant in the suit filed on April 29, 2022, marked: SC/CV/504/2022.
 
The plaintiffs are contending among others, that the said Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act is in conflict with constitutional provisions.
