Soldiers Kill 4 Gunmen Imposing Sit-at-Home In Abia

The incident happened on Wednesday at about 2 pm at the Uratta, Aba area of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.

 
Four men allegedly enforcing sit-at-home in Aba area of Abia state have been killed by soldiers.
 
According to Leadership Newspaper, soldiers attached to the 144 Battalion of the 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Aba, Abia State killed the four men alleged to be armed for attempting to enforce the illegal sit-at-home order imposed in the South East by the outlawed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
 
The incident happened on Wednesday at about 2 pm at the Uratta, Aba area of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
 
It was learnt that the victims, who were dressed in black attires, marched through popular streets and markets warning traders and residents on the imposition of a two-day sit-at-home order slated for yesterday and Friday.
 
They reportedly warned the residents of the consequences of disobeying the order expected to be observed across the South East in protest against President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Ebonyi State.
 
A resident said while the gunmen were going about their mission which forced some shop owners to close their businesses, they were challenged by the soldiers which resulted in a gun duel, where four of them were killed.
 
The police did not confirm the incident when this report was filed last night.
