NSCDC Arrest Railway Vandals In Enugu State

The suspects were arrested at Ubahu Community in Enugu East local government area of Enugu State on April 2, 2023, in collaboration with the Garrison Command, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army.

NSCDC Arrest Railway Vandals In Enugu State

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have apprehended a six-man gang that specializes in vandalizing railway lines in Enugu State.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Denny Manuel said the suspects were arrested at Ubahu Community in Enugu East local government area of Enugu State on April 2, 2023, in collaboration with the Garrison Command, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army.

Those arrested have been identified as Zakari Ishaka, 25 Katsina; Amadu Danladi 40, kano; Abdulkareem Haruna 19, Katsina; Ousman Idris (19) kano; Musa Hamza (23) Kano and Arma Yau Magaji (42) Katsina.

Manuel said the arrest was made possible following a series of intelligence synergy between the Corps and the Nigerian Army.

The Statement Read;

 “After sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering about their nefarious activities, our men arrested the suspects while they were conveying the vandalised railway slippers belonging to the Nigeria Railway Corporation Eastern District Enugu, in a truck with registration number BSA 189 XA.

“Items recovered from the suspects include; a sizeable quantity of Rail slippers and rail tracks cut to size and other railway materials, and a truck with registration BSA 189 XA.

“The suspects are already helping Corps in its investigation to unravel other culprits and their sponsors.”
