Gunmen Kidnap Mother, Daughter On Humanitarian Service In Kaduna, Demand N100m

A family friend of the kidnapped victim said the bandits have made contact and demanded N100 million for the release of Engineer Ramatu and her daughter.

According to a Daily Post report, some bandits have abducted a mother and daughter, including the commercial driver conveying them to Kaduna after a humanitarian service at Mariri community in Lere Local Government Area of the state.

A source disclosed to DAILY POST in Kaduna, on Sunday that the victim, Engr. Ramatu Abarshi, and her daughter were returning to Kaduna, after a visit to Mariri village in Kajuru Local Government, and distributed household items to the less privileged.

According to him, it was after she distributed the items, and was coming back to Kaduna that the bandits stopped their chattered vehicle, and kidnapped them in a village, near Kasuwan Magani.

“She came to distribute cloth and other basic items to orphans ahead of the Eid-el- Fitr celebration.

“She exchanged pleasantries with dozens of people in Mariri and posed for pictures with many people before they left in the evening,” the source said.

According to him, somewhere between ‘Crossing and Kasuwan Magani,’ their vehicle was said to have been attacked by bandits who abducted all three including the driver.

The Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige did not pick up his calls for comments.
