Some gunmen who are suspected to be herdsmen have attacked another community in Bassa council of Plateau State, killing three person and injuring one.
The Nation learnt that the attack on Ariri, a village in Irigwe chiefdom of Miango district, took place about 1.30 am yesterday.
About 25 houses were reportedly set ablaze by the invaders, it was said.
Recently, about 10 persons were killed and 19 injured in Zerreci community, also in Bassa council.
In a statement by the President of Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Prince Robert Ashi Dodo, the latest attack was the fifth in the area in less than a month.
Dodo said the assailants wrecked the community, looting and burning houses, including a church, and stealing livestock.
Dodo called on security operatives to stop the attacks.
Police spokesman Gabriel Ogaba did not take calls to his phone nor did he respond to text messages on the incident.
