The reduction of official working hours of civil servants in Jigawa state by two hours has been approved by the state government.
This was contained in a statement signed by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila.
The statement said the reduction of the working hours started on Tuesday after the commencement of Ramadan fasting.
According to the statement, “Civil Servants in the State are now to report to the office from 9am and close by 3 pm while on Friday are to close by 1 pm.”
He explained that the reduction of the working hours is aimed at providing more opportunities for civil servants to prepare for their Ramadan break.
Also to have ample time to observe their spiritual activities during the Holy Month.
He, therefore, urged civil servants to use the Ramadan period to pray for God’s guidance and blessings for the state.
