Multichoice has gone ahead to implement its new proposed hike in price of packages.
South African satellite TV provider, Multichoice has gone ahead to implement new charges for DStv/Gotv.
This is against an order of the Competition and Consumer Protection (CCP) Tribunal sitting in Abuja ordering it to suspend implementation.
The Senate had also directed the pay-tv service provider to halt the increase in their prices in tandem with the economic situation in Nigeria.
A social media user who noticed the change lamented online and wrote:
"My GoTv subscription is due for New payment. I brought out my phone to subscribe for another month only to discover that the price has been adjusted.
Meanwhile I read on Wednesday on this platform that the Senate has ask the Service provider not to increase their services now considering the harsh economic situation of the country at the moment.
Guys what say you...??"
