12 Suspects Remanded For Allegedly Killing Ogun Monarch

Ruling on the case on Thursday, March 24, Magistrate O. F. Adeduntan ordered that the accused be remanded in Oba correctional facility.

The arrested suspects

A magistrate court sitting in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government of Ogun State has remanded twelve suspected fingered in the killing of the Olu of Agodo, Oba Ayinde Odetola in a correctional centre.

Recall that the monarch who visited a land in Agoro to clear the grave of his late brother, was attacked alongside three others, before being burnt to death in his car on January 24.

It was alleged that about 50 hoodlums led by one Gbeminiyi Sotade, stormed Agodo to attack the monarch who they accused of being a land grabber.

Some of the suspects were subsequently arrested and paraded by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Zone 2, Onikan Lagos.

Ruling on the case on Thursday March 24, Magistrate O. F. Adeduntan ordered that the accused be remanded in Oba correctional facility.

The case was the adjourned till June 17, 2022.
