Igboho said: "I was very surprised that Chief Momodu could do this when many big people were even afraid to speak up for me.
"He prayed for me and told me to be calm and await God’s intervention.
"He said all he wants is peace and that he will reach out to every part of Nigeria."

Following news of Igboho's release, Dele Momodu took to his official Instagram account to celebrate the activist.
He wrote: "Last night, I was overjoyed to receive the news of CHIEF SUNDAY IGBOHO ADEYEMO’s release from detention in Cotonou and I immediately reached out to him via WhatsApp. The original OMOLUWABI responded with an effigy of prostration and 'Thanks so much sir.' I will continue to engage critical stakeholders wherever they may be...
"May the good Lord grant our leaders the wisdom to accommodate and seek peace with every Nigerian."
Recall that Igboho and his wife, Ropo, were arrested on Monday, July 19, 2021, by the International Criminal Police Organisation at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, the Republic of Benin, on their way to Germany. His wife was later released but Sunday remained in detention.
