A notorious bandit leader has killed a member over an incident.
It was gathered that the bandit leader identified as ‘Yellow’ reportedly killed a 30-year-old member, Abdullahi Iliya, over the murder of a kidnapped victim in Katsina state.
This comes after the slain terrorist during a tussle with the victim shot and killed him for refusing to be abducted by the gang of terrorist who stormed his community at Faskari Local Government Area of the state last Thursday, March 3.
In a police statement, the 30-year-old victim, whose name was given as Umar Abdullahi, was murdered for refusing a seven-member gang of terrorists who stormed the community located along Dogon Awo feeder road,
Angered by this, the slain terrorist, Iliya, shot and killed the victim, which resulted in the gang leader killing Iliya instantly out of anger.
The state police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the development on Tuesday night said two suspects, namely Nasiru Mohammed, 27, and Abubakar Iliyasu, 25, both from Faskari council had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Isah said; “On March 03, 2022 at about 2.30 a.m, bandits numbering seven (7) armed with AK 47 rifles, attacked the residence of one Umar Abdullahi Ankalele, “M”, aged 30yrs along Dogon Awo feeder road, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina state and kidnapped him.
“In the process of taking him away, the victim resisted and refused to follow the kidnappers. Consequently, the kidnappers shot and killed him.
“In the course of the investigation, the duo of Nasiru Mohammed, 27 and Abubakar Iliyasu, 25, both of Faskari Local Government Area, were arrested and confessed to the commission of the crime.”
