No Nigerian Player Included As CAF Releases AFCON 2021 Best XI [See Full List]

Senegal star, Sadio Mane and Vincent Aboubakar of Cameroon were announced as top strikers in the 4-4-2 match formation.

 
The Confederation of African Football has released a list of its Best XI for the just concluded 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament won by Senegal.
 
CAF announced the 2021 AFCON Best XI in a tweet via their Twitter handle following the conclusion of the tournament in Egypt on Sunday night.
 
No Nigerian players made the Best XI and the reserve bench, including Moses Simon, who had an outstanding tournament.
 
Cameroon had four players in the squad with the goalkeeper of the tournament; Edouard Mendy, Saliou Ciss, Nampalys Mendy and Most Valuable Player Sadio Mane among the Best X1.
 
Recall that the Teranga Lions of Senegal defeated Egypt 4-2 on penalties in the AFCON final at the weekend in Yaoundé’s Olembé stadium in Cameroon.
 
The AFCON 2021 final tie ended in a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes.
 
Sadio Mane scored the winning penalty for Senegal against Egypt to ensure they win their first-ever AFCON.
