Magaji Da’u Aliyu, the member Representing Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal constituency has narrowly escaped a mob action by the angry youths of his constituency.
The incident happened on Thursday when the aggrieved members of the constituency blocked Kukuma village road to prevent the member and his convoy from passing through the area to attend a political event.
The lawmaker and other APC officials of the local government were on their way to Buji town where the lawmaker was scheduled to attend an empowerment program he organised.
The aggrieved members who were in groups threatened to attack anyone who dared to pass through the roadblock they mounted in Kukuma town of Buji local government of the state.
The angry youths were said to have chanted hate slurs on the lawmaker, shouting, ” Bama yi, Bama yi, Bama yi,” meaning we don’t like you.
One of the angry youths told newsmen that they took the decision to register their dissatisfaction with the representation of the lawmaker at the National Assembly.
State police spokesperson Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident to DAILY POST.
He said the incident happened when the lawmaker ran into rival support groups, one for a serving member and the others of a politician who intends to take the seat in 2023.
Adam informed that the situation was under control.
