Bandits Kidnap Traders Travelling Along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Highway

The incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 12, after the highway between Brinin Gwari and Kaduna at Unguwar Yako forest was blocked by bandits.

 
An unknown number of traders have been abducted by bandits.
 
It was gathered that the traders were traveling to Kano from Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
 
The incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 12, after the highway between Brinin Gwari and Kaduna at Unguwar Yako forest was blocked by bandits.
 
A source told DailyPost that the victims were likely on a business trip from Birnin Gwari to Kano when they were kidnapped by the bandits.
 
The source said: "We spotted four empty vehicles and they said an unspecified number of people moving from Birnin-Gwari axis to Kano have been kidnapped."
 
Over the years, the Brinin Gwari axis has been a hot spot for bandits and criminal elements.
