Drama Looms As PSC And Health Ministry Disagree Over N1.2bn COVID-19 Fund

The PSC Chairman, Boss Mustapha, was represented at the event by a Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Maurice Mbaeri.

 

According to a report by The PUNCH, the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 and the Ministry of Health clashed on Thursday at the Senate over the disbursement of N1.2bn Covid-19 management fund. 

The PSC Chairman, Boss Mustapha, was represented at the event by a Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Maurice Mbaeri.

He said the N1.2bn was released to hospitals for treatment of COVID-19 patients. 

The claim was however refuted by the Ministry of Health. 

The Director, Department of Hospital Services in the Ministry, Dr Adebimpe Adebiyi said no money was released to the hospitals after meeting all requirements. 

The lawmakers resolved to have a round table on a later date with the minister of finance, budget office, PSC, minister of health and heads of hospitals.
