The husband has been arrested by the police, following a distress call received at Ode Remo divisional headquarters at about 3pm on Wednesday.
Ogun police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed that the suspect had locked up himself and his wife in their room, where “he started beating the wife.”
Oyeyemi stated that “it was the wailing of the wife that attracted the neighbours, who tried all efforts to persuade the suspect to open the door, but he refused.”
Acting on the distress call, Oyeyemi added that the DPO of Ode Remo division, CSP Olayemi Fagbohun, had mobilized his men to the scene where the door to the couple’s apartment was forced open.
