A suspected motorcycle thief was reportedly attacked on Sunday by an angry mob in Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Spokesperson of the Police Command, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
He said the incident happened yesterday at about 0700hrs at Kila Village in Gwaram Local Government.
He explained that police in Gwaram recieved information that a suspected thief of motorcycle was arrested by angry youths, who beat and left him in a pool of blood.
Shiisu said police rushed to the scene and found that the suspect was seriously beaten up by the mob.
He said the victim was rescued and rushed to Gwaram Cottage Hospital for treatment and was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor while receiving treatment.
The Police spokesman said two vigilante members suspected to have an idea on what happened have been invited for interrogation.
