Spokesman of the defence corps, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin.
According to a report by Daily Post, two persons have been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, for alleged attempt to sell contaminated and unhealthy cow meats to unsuspecting customers.
Spokesman of the defence corps, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin.
He said the suspects, Bashiru Bala Zuru, a meat seller and his accomplice, Nawali Bala, were arrested in Patigi, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
According to Babawale, Bala confessed during interrogation that the cow meat was given to him by one Dantani Jayewu, now at large, who lives in Okoloke, Kogi state.
He said further checks by the state Ministry of Environment and public health confirmed that the cow meat was unhealthy for human consumption.
The spokesman said the suspects would be charged to court after completion of investigations.
