Serious tragedy struck in Kajola area of Oda road, Akure, the Ondo State capital following the death of a commercial motorcyclist who was hit by a truck, according to Daily Post.
The truck driver rammed into the commercial motorcycle, popularly known as Okada while trying to avoid potholes on the road which was undergoing construction.
According to an eyewitness, the Okada rider died on the spot while two passengers he was carrying sustained varying degrees of injuries in the accident.
The eyewitness, who craved anonymity, said the two victims were rushed to the hospital while the remains of the deceased motorcyclist had been deposited at the morgue.
Meanwhile, some road users blamed the accident on poor condition of the Oda road.
The concerned road users urged the state government to mobilise the contractor handling the project back to the site, stating that the road had become a nightmare to motorists and residents within the axis.
