Man Arrested For Impersonating EFCC Officials To Allegedly Defraud Internet Fraudsters Of N38M

The defendant allegedly impersonated officers of the Commission and obtained the money from the suspected cyber criminals by false pretence.

Ladeji Kelvin Babatunde

A man identified as Ladeji Kelvin Babatunde has been apprehended by Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Command, for allegedly obtaining over N38,000,000.00( Thirty-eight Million Naira) from suspected yahoo boys to prevent their arrest by the Commission.

The defendant allegedly impersonated officers of the Commission and obtained the money from the suspected cyber criminals by false pretence.

Upon his arrest, a four-bedroom uncompleted apartment located at Ikola Road, Alagbado, Lagos, which was allegedly developed with the proceeds of the perpetrated fraud, was recovered from him.
