Commotion As Gunmen Kill Son Of Local Vigilante Member In Rivers Community

The spokesman of the vigilante group, Ohaka Obisike who confirmed the incident said the “innocent young boy” was shot dead after the assailants missed his father who appeared to be their main target.

According to a report by Daily Post, one person identified as Prince Oguzo has been shot dead by suspected criminals in Ibaa community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Oguzo, twenty-four years old, was the son of a member of the vigilante in the community.

He was reportedly shot dead in his father’s house in the early hours of Wednesday.

The spokesman of the vigilante group, Ohaka Obisike who confirmed the incident said the “innocent young boy” was shot dead after the assailants missed his father who appeared to be their main target.

Ohaka said other members of the vigilante group later intervened and chased the hoodlums away.

He, however, called on the security agencies to go after the “parents of the criminals who are known in the community”

In his words “It was around 2am this morning they invaded the community in search of the OSPAC member. The OSPAC member was not around and they shot the boy to death. We followed them up and they ran to the bush.

“We are telling the Ibaa people they should caution their people and the police should go after their parents and arrest them”.

The Rivers State police is yet to issue a statement on the latest incident.
