Nigerian Top University To Probe Lecturers Who Take Exam Scripts To Students At Home, Hotels, Seek S*x For Grades

According to SaharaReporters, the management of the University of Calabar in Cross River State has warned its lecturers to desist from engaging in illegal practices in their dealings with students.

In a memo seen by SaharaReporters, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Admin), Prof Michael Okom, stated that some of its staff members take examination scripts to students in their homes, hotels and other relaxation spots.

Okom further threatened that those engaged in such acts will soon be invited before the Disciplinary Committee of the institution.

The memo with ref number UC/DVC/ADM 003 was signed on Monday, 10th August 2021.

It read, “It has come to the knowledge of management that some teaching staff have revived the obnoxious and abhorrable acts of sorting, extortion and sex for grades/sexual harassment.

“Some departments and lecturers have been specifically fingered and investigations have commenced. Management also has information to the effect that lecturers have resorted to giving students scripts to write exams at homes, hotels and relaxation places.

“All those involved in these despicable activities are hereby warned to desist and repent. In fact, they will soon be invited to interact with the Disciplinary Committee."
