Reacting on Twitter, Nigerians said Buhari's bid to unban Twitter now is because he wants to use the platform to campaign for election.
President Muhammadu Buhari
Nigerian youths have called out President Muhammadu Buhari over his recent moves to unban Twitter.
Reacting on Twitter, Nigerians said Buhari's bid to unban Twitter now is because he wants to use the platform to campaign for his party in the 2023 election.
Recall that Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture had on Tuesday said the government would lift the ban on Twitter operations “in a matter of days”.
Mohammed made this known after the week’s virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) at the State House, Abuja.
He disclosed that Twitter has accepted the conditions given to the platform to operate in the country.
Reacting, some Nigerians took to their social media pages saying the plan to lift the ban on Twitter is because of the campaign for the 2023 election.
However, some applauded the government for listening to Nigerians.
Here are some reactions gathered by DAILY POST;

@OluofManchester “Freedom of speech and expression has been bargained successfully.”

Reps reject lifting of Twitter suspension in Nigeria
@TonyObaje “No, let him not lift the ban please, we are already here via VPN.”
@OgbeniOmisore “The Federal government realising that the little wins they garner on Twitter is already eroded as a result of the infamous ban; now working round the clock to lift the ban.”
@Joe “If it’s true that Twitter agreed to setup office in Nigeria, then we can all agree that Buhari won this round.”
