Oh No! Two Women Sustain Gunshot Wounds As Troops Repel Boko Haram Attack In Yobe Community

The gunmen who invaded the village in the early hours of Thursday, but were reportedly repelled by the troops of Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai mobilized to the community.

According to a Daily Post reports that a middle-aged woman and her sister have sustained gunshot wounds following an attack on Katarko village by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.

The gunmen who invaded the village in the early hours of Thursday, but were reportedly repelled by the troops of Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai mobilized to the community.

A resident of the community, Dalhat Katarko who confirmed the attack also said, “one woman and her sister while planting seeds in their farmland sustained gunshot wounds from stray bullets.

“The injured victims since been evacuated to the State Specialists’ Hospital, Damaturu for medical treatment”.

He said the troops were quickly mobilized to the village, where they engaged the invaders in a gun duel.

As of the time of filing this report, DAILY POST learnt that normalcy has returned to the community with dwellers going about their normal businesses.

Katarko community is located 20 kilometres away from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital and had previously suffered Boko Haram attacks leading to the destruction of lives and property.
