Kidnappers And Bandits To Die By Hanging In Niger State

The House of Assembly in Niger State has passed a law that kidnappers and bandits will be sentenced to death by hanging.

Recall that the state is one of the worst-hit by the activities of bandits in the country.

Back in May, an armed gang stormed an Islamic school at Tegina in the State where over a hundred students were abducted.

On Tuesday, the State House of Assembly during its plenary passed the Bill for an Act to amend the Kidnapping and Cattle Rustling (Special Provision) Law 2021 into law.

The law according to the lawmakers would also be applicable to any informant caught aiding the activities in the state.
