Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede has been reinstated by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday after her suspension.

Justice Oloyede was unjustly retired by the National Judicial Council (NJC) in 2016.

Her retirement came when she was petitioned by the Osun Civil Societies Coalition for her failure to conduct herself in a manner preserving the dignity of her office, impartiality and independence of the Judiciary.

The NJC, in suspending Justice Oloyede, stated that it found that she had conducted herself in a manner inimical to the dignity of her office as well as impartiality and independence of the judiciary when she sent a petition against then Governor of the state, Rauf Aregbesola, and his deputy to the State House of Assembly.

She had also circulated the petition to 36 persons and organizations.
