Barr. Olusegun Bamgbose, Esq., National Coordinator, Concerned Advocates for Good Governance, CAGG, has lamented about the worsening insecurity in the nation while stating that President Buhari should not be enjoying the financial benefits of his office while the country is bleeding.
The senior lawyer who likened the worsening security situation in the country to an ill wind that blows no one any good said the President failed in his 2015 promises to restore security to Nigeria.
Bamgbose noted that Buhari promised in 2015 to put an end to insecurity and gained the support of most Nigerians but that no right-thinking person will expect the citizenry to clap for the President
He alleged that the insecurity situation in Nigeria worsened more than the President met it in 2015.
The Primate told President Buhari not to expect Nigerians to clap for him.
“No right-thinking person will expect Nigerians to clap for President Buhari for failing in his firm promise to secure the lives and properties of Nigerians,” Bamgbose said.
“President Buhari should equally not expect Nigerians to clap for him in the face of worsening insecurity situation.
“No responsible government will equally expect its subjects to keep quiet when their lives are exposed to danger on daily basis.
“Nigerians would not cease to attack Buhari until he makes Nigeria secure to the satisfaction of the citizens.
“What Buhari deserves now from Nigeria is constant criticisms until the security situation improves.
“How could President Buhari expect Nigerians to bear with him, when he never gave Jonathan a breathing space in 2014.
“He should equally not expect Nigerians to bear with him now that he is the Chief Security Officer of the nation. No excuse will be entertained.
“He has to bark and bite. We can no longer be patient with Buhari. He has to buckle up and squarely tackles the insecurity in Nigeria.
“There is no justification for him to remain in State House and continue to enjoy the financial benefits of the office if he can’t tackle insecurity in Nigeria. It is as serious as that.”
